The client is a prominent corporation in the aircraft repair and maintenance industry. With a strong preference for Microsoft technologies, they have leveraged Microsoft Fabric to enhance their salary forecasting capabilities.
This client faced the challenge of accurately forecasting salaries for AI roles. With the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence and the increasing demand for skilled professionals in this field, it became crucial for the client to anticipate compensation trends. This foresight would enable them to attract and retain top talent, ensure competitive salary offerings, and make informed decisions for workforce planning.
By leveraging Microsoft Fabric and advanced predictive modeling, the client aimed to address this challenge and stay ahead in the competitive landscape.
We built a predictive salary pipeline using Microsoft Fabric and Prophet to generate salary forecasts for AI roles over the next 3 years, segmented by region and job category. This enables the organization to anticipate compensation trends and plan based on data.
The project architecture follows a Medallion methodology (Bronze, Silver, Gold), integrated in Microsoft Fabric with automated pipeline steps.
We used the Global AI Job Market & Salary Trends 2025 and the additional historical years from 2022 as our Data Sources.
We used the Prophet library (developed by Meta) to forecast salaries for each combination of region and job category. The model was trained on historical data from 2020 to 2024 and generated forecasts for 2025, 2026, and 2027. Execution was done in PySpark notebooks, and models were optionally tracked using MLflow.
The pipeline consists of notebooks that perform each stage: data cleaning, modeling, and publishing. At the end, Delta tables are refreshed, and the Power BI semantic model is updated via REST API.
The Power BI report shows the evolution and prediction of salaries by region, job category, and year. It includes YoY comparisons, interactive filters, and historical trend analysis.
The implementation of the predictive salary pipeline has empowered the client to make data-driven decisions regarding AI roles. By leveraging advanced predictive modeling, the client can now accurately forecast salaries for AI positions over the next three years, segmented by region and job category. This capability is crucial in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence, where attracting and retaining top talent is essential.
The insights gained from the Power BI report, which includes year-over-year comparisons, interactive filters, and historical trend analysis, enable the client to stay competitive and ensure their compensation offerings remain attractive and aligned with market trends.
